This year I'll …
January's Emacs Carnival theme came as ordered for me, since I've written a similar blogpost previous December (Reflection on my Emacs use) and I can now reflect on my progress. At the end of that blogpost I've written a todo list which looks like it remains empty, but I still think I progressed a lot. If anything I've finished reading Emacs Lisp An Introduction by Robert J. Chassell and I had a lot of fun creating a box diagram of lengths of Spacemacs function definitions.
One thing is certain. This year I'll not reach Emacs/OrgMode Nirvana yet. I have a vague picture of what this kind of Nirvana would mean to me, but further expanding on this thought would require another blogpost. I also don't plan on stopping using Spacemacs. There's simply not enough time for that in 2026.
I started with what I'll not, but the plan for what I will is already set and already tight:
- All of the things from my last Reflection on my Emacs use :)
- move as much work as possible into Emacs.
- PHP Web development (xdebug! - I've started writing blogpost about it, but it is still unfinished)
- start preparing my Techno Enema radio show in Emacs with w3m and denote
- Blogging (Check out the LanguageTool)
- Move workflows into literal documentation style with OrgMode
- How to use my Mira E-ink monitor
- glitching images
- git encrypt
- Start using Zettelkesten method with denote
- Read the Emacs Lisp Elements book by Prot (on Mira E-ink monitor)
- Find an Emacs package to maintain
And last but not the least, I'll try to host a Emacs Carnival (planning for late summer, probably autumn).
